Made in 1987, this is the film length pilot episode for the short running TV Series called "The Highwayman".
Starring Sam Jones in the title role - this pilot only retained him in the credited actors when the series started properly in 1988 - it also ran for only nine episodes.
Nevertheless it was a fun watch, featuring a truck - which had the cab of a concealed helicopter, and later in the series, another truck has the cab of a futuristic car.
There are more than one crime fighting "Highwayman" - but Sam Jones's character, apart from being called "Highway" by people that know him
- and the organization they all serve - is never specifically named.

As I say, the pilot differs from the short series that followed in a few respects, not only the cast - but I mostly enjoyed it all.
