The 1969 LP “Kris Kristofferson” (later re-packaged and reissued as “Me And Bobby McGee”) included his memorable early songwriting hits “For The Good Times,” “Me And Bobby McGee,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down’,” and “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” which was subsequently slowed-down and popularized by Sammi Smith in 1971: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HonH-w7mGlQ

Per ‘The Originals Project’ website, this Kristofferson country standard was initially recorded by Bill Nash, but his version was not released and the master tape hasn’t turned up.
