21 October 2021
This is the Choir and Strings Performances from the 2021 Brisbane Northside Regional Honours Workshop (Strings and Brass/Wind Instrumentalists) for State Primary Schools.
Alexander (10yo - Grade 5), with two other students, was nominated by his school to attend the three day workshop held on 19-21 October 2021 at Brisbane's Old Museum in Bowen Hills. As a bonus for Alexander, he was also assigned the role of the Orchestra's Cello Section Leader.
This video includes both the Strings and Brass/Woodwind Instrumentalists forming a massed choir of around 150 students from the area's Primary Schools, and then the performance by the Strings Orchestra. I have not included here the performance by the Brass/Wind Orchestra.

Quote from Alexander:
"I remember that at a particularly difficult section of the music, the conductor told the cello section to mime that bit if they weren't able to play it, because the section leader (Alex), would play it correctly anyway!!"
