Today we’re visiting Beady Belle’s brilliant 2016 album On My Own. With their (or at this point, her) latest albums being more electronic-based, Beate took a trip to New York to get inspiration and went to create an entire contemporary jazz album with some other masterful musicians. This album, while not being particularly interesting to me on my first listen, is now one of my favorite projects from them (or her lol); it’s just gorgeously composed and deep in its messages, while at the same time being very relaxing to listen to. Just great, and while this pressing is a little quiet (like most of Jazzland’s recent pressings), it still sounds great with being cut at 45 RPM. Also love the labels with images of the NYC skyline!

Feel free to subscribe, like the video and share it with other music lovers, since it's what keeps me motivated to keep the channel going. Also feel free to discuss this record in the comments, I'll be down there waiting! Enjoy.

« My Ripping Process »
The audio in this video is taken straight from the raw recording; no audio manipulation such as EQ-ing or declicking done whatsoever.
Prior to ripping, the record is dry-cleaned with a carbon fiber brush to remove surface dust. Record is then played through and recorded with a Zoom H1n, directly plugged into my passive preamp, in uncompressed .wav (24bit 96khz). Both video and audio is then transferred to my PC, where I edit them together as well as add graphics using Vegas Pro. The audio remains completely unaltered here apart from being peak-normalized to reach an optimal level. The video is then rendered at 4K with a compressed stream of audio. Before uploading, the resulting rendered video is muxed together with an uncompressed .wav (24bit 96khz) of the video's audio using MKVToolNix, resulting in completely unharmed, uncompressed audio prior to being uploaded to YouTube. In other words - this is as pure as it can get! :)
