“Don’t Fence Me In” was written by Cole Porter in 1934 for a 20th Century Fox movie titled “Adios, Argentina” and based on a poem written by Robert Fletcher. The song is one of the most popular cowboy ballads of all time and has been covered by many different artists including Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Willie Nelson.
