Rebel Radio is a radio station featured in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online that plays Classic Country music.
Rebel Radio is a country station that focuses on classic country, namely outlaw country, but also strays towards rockabilly and Southern rock. With songs dating back as far as 1950, this station contains the oldest songs in the game. Idents sarcastically describe the radio station as "the home of gun control, progressive politics, and breakdancing". They will often take digs at modern country music, namely pop country and bro country, describing it as "sissy", "corporate", and "twangy pop sung by frat boys".
The station is hosted by "The Dancing Outlaw" Jesco White, who personally compiled the track listing for the station. When on the air, Jesco often appears to be drunk on corn whiskey, moonshine, or other white liquors, and often laughs to his own jokes or tells rambling stories. The station broadcasts from the Rebel Radio Building in the Grand Senora Desert, close to the town of Harmony; it is the only radio station in Grand Theft Auto V to have a known physical broadcasting location.
This is one of the preferred stations of Trevor Philips. Additionally, Michael De Santa tunes into Rebel Radio during the period in which his family leaves him. When his son returns his car to him, Michael stops tuning into the station.
In the Enhanced and Expanded and Enhanced versions of the game, the radio will automatically switch to this station if the player tunes to West Coast Talk Radio and then loses the signal of that station.
The station is part of the "country" default radio set for vehicles in Grand Theft Auto V and Online, and is the only station in this set.
