This is my third version of this song, and my latest. I wrote it back in April and made this video in Portland Oregon back in June while on tour. Well I definitely love louisarmstrong in Fats Waller an Duke Ellington, I also do love so many country songs from Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams to Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, and songs like this one reflect that in my writing.

This song goes out to all of the small family owned places that I’ve known over the years that have had to close down. Living for 24 years in San Francisco I’ve seen it happen too much while tech corporations get back room tax breaks at city hall.
