We review and rank every version of "A Star Is Born" in the Old Movies for Young People Season 2 finale. We pit the original A Star Is Born from 1937 with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March against the 1954 remake with Judy Garland and James Mason, the 1976 remake with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, and the 2018 remake with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. We also include "What Price Hollywood?", the 1932 film that served as the basis for the story of the A Star Is Born movies. Join us, gay Canadian playwright Brad Fraser and Millennial cinephile Spencer Schunk, as we compare these generational Hollywood epics.

It's the gay Baby Boomer versus the straight Millennial as we review, rate, dissect, and celebrate movies ranging from iconic classics to cult hits to mostly-forgotten gems of old Hollywood. This is Old Movies for Young People.

"What Price Hollywood?" (1932) was directed by George Cukor and written by Gene Fowler, Rowland Brown, Jane Murfin, and Ben Markson from a story by Adela Rogers St. Johns and Louis Stevens. It stars Constance Bennett, Lowell Sherman, Neil Hamilton, Gregory Ratoff, Louise Beavers, and Eddie "Rochester" Anderson.

"A Star Is Born" (1937) was directed by William Wellman and written by Wellman, Robert Carson, Dorothy Parker, and Alan Campbell. It stars Janet Gaynor, Fredric March, Adolphe Menjou, May Robson, Andy Devine, and Lionel Stander.

"A Star Is Born" (1954) was directed by George Cukor and written by Moss Hart, based on the screenplay of the 1937 version adapted from the original story by William Wellman and Robert Carson, with input from several uncredited writers. It stars Judy Garland, James Mason, Jack Carson, Charles Bickford, and Tommy Noonan.

"A Star Is Born" (1976) was directed by Frank Pierson and written by Pierson, John Gregory Dunne, and Joan Didion, again based on the screenplay and original story of the 1937 version. It stars Barbara Streisand, Kris Kristofferson, Gary Busey, Paul Mazursky, Joanne Linville, Sally Kirkland, and Oliver Clark.

"A Star Is Born" (2018) was directed by Bradley Cooper and written by Cooper, Eric Roth, and Will Fetters, based on the screenplays of both the 1976 and 1954 versions and the original 1937 story by Wellman and Carson. It stars Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Sam Elliott, Rafi Gevron, Andrew Dice Clay, Dave Chappelle, and Anthony Ramos.
