In May, we celebrated the 30th birthday of the one and only Spirit — the Kiger mustang stallion who served as the animator’s muse and model for DreamWorks Animation’s beloved 2002 feature film, “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.”

Spirit continues to serve as an ambassador for wild horses, attracting fans of the movie from all over the world and helping us educate the public about the serious challenges wild herds continue to face on our public lands.
