Beneath the streets of London, the River Fleet still flows - hidden from view, but not gone.
In this video, we explore how one of London’s most important lost rivers shaped the city’s early landscape, gave its name to Fleet Street, and was gradually buried as London expanded above it. Its course may now be invisible, but the valley it carved — and the infrastructure built around it — still shapes the city today.
Huge thanks to Mark & Alan, who were working nearby and generously helped capture the drain footage with their specialist equipment.
