In 2001, while watching a much hyped Garth Brooks TV special called ‘Garth Brooks Live - Coast to Coast’, I was struck by how he just seemed to want so bad to be a rock star. He was running around the stage, flying around on a wire, with flash pots and everything.
It looked more like a premeditated attempt at a rock concert than a country concert, which was his genre. This was long before today’s 'broseph' country, so it seemed even more outrageous to me at that time.
Anyway, this song is a result of my watching that TV special.
