Murfreesboro, TN - Gallagher Guitar Co. was established in May 1965 and continues to build some of the finest guitars in the world. The company is based in the Heart of Tennessee, right here in Murfreesboro.
In 2020, Gallagher Guitars made the move from Wartrace to Murfreesboro. The move was made shortly after the company was acquired from the Gallagher family in September of 2019 by David Mathis. After Mathis took the reins - - and despite being in the height of the COVID pandemic, Mathis said, "The legacy of outstanding craftsmanship begun by J.W. Gallagher in 1965 will continue." The music entrepreneur said, "The shop was moved to Murfreesboro to bring Gallagher Guitars into greater public presence, We also plan to add retail space and a performance venue at a nearby location."
Looking back to their earlier days in the sleepy and peaceful town of Wartrace, stars like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels and Zac Brown, all had guitars made there by the Gallagher workers.
The Gallagher Guitar Co. will celebrate their 58th birthday on Saturday, May 27, 2023. During the special day, guest can expect presentations, workshops, guitar jams and a free evening concert with Jim Hurst and JP Cormier and friends. The anniversary will also include a Friday open jam on May 26, 2023. Everyone is invited to stop by.
